Integral approach
To assure future-proof product designs, it is essential
to anticipate the changing functional and operational requirements
as well as the legal requirements resulting from international
standards. With its in-depth knowledge, the competence center
is involved in setting these standards by defining measuring
methods, parameters and limits. This in-depth knowledge
is applied in projects varying from research on the behavior
of the next generation IC technologies, modeling the shielding
of the metal housing, to electromagnetic aspects of wireless
links.
Consultancy
Short-term design-in support and design reviews from
architecture and IC design, up to full (pre) production
evaluation, can help you to detect and correct electromagnetic
issues early in the PCP or in the supply chain. Examples
are training-on-the-job, failure and risk analysis, troubleshooting,
benchmarking, workbench measurement methods, design guidelines,
audits, and electromagnetic and thermal simulation tools.
Testing
Pre-compliance early in the development process and full
compliance tests before product release are being performed
according to international standards. The competence center
is accredited according to ISO 17025 to perform electromagnetic
compliance testing of products for a wide range of standards
such as EN (required for CE certification), IEC (CISPR),
and FCC. We are also a Competent Body under the EMC directive,
and a Conformity Assessment Body CAB) in accordance to Mutual
Recognition Agreements (MRAs) between the EU and other countries
like the US.
