The HCS group works closely together with our customers
to define solutions that are usable and enjoyable for end
users.
This requires focusing on users from beginning to
end, using User Centered Design methods. Working together
with our customers (both Philips and non-Philips), the HCS
group:
- Identifies opportunities for development –
We explore the possibilities by
reviewing competitor products, systems or services,
interviewing stakeholders and experts, and developing
solution proposals. The HCS group evaluates the options
and recommends the directions for further development.
The recommendations would be supported with outlines of:
- the typical usage scenarios and ‘personas’
- the key usage requirements
- the key engineering requirements
- identification of the engineering options and
recommended solution directions
- preliminary Human System Interaction (HSI)
concepts.
- Builds a 'Proof of Concept (PoC)'
demonstrator – We
translate the chosen directions
into tangible demonstrators that show how the solution
would be used – Human System Interaction (HSI) solution.
Progressively develop the solution using working
technology to a level of maturity that allows all the
key business and design issues to be addressed.
The PoC demonstrator would be supported with
documentation of:
- in-depth usage scenarios and ‘personas’
- specification of the key usage requirements
- specification of the key engineering
requirements
- the recommended HSI concepts including the
proposed UI solution
- evaluation reports for the proposed HSI concepts
from usage, technical and business perspectives.
- Delivers ‘Business ready working technology’
– We engineer the solution to a level of maturity
that enables it to be transferred into the client's
organization. The HCS group designs the UI and implement
UI assets. The HCS group delivers a working prototype
incorporating the specification of the architecture,
platform, application functions, HSI technologies, UI
and UI middleware/engine.
- Evaluates solutions in use – We evaluate solutions from both technical and
usage standpoints. The HCS group highlights strengths,
weaknesses and any opportunities for improvement.
