Each service is tuned to deliver optimal added value from the
first phase of the innovation process – predevelopment - up to
and including industrialization and supply chain development.

New product and system development
Turning ideas into breakthrough products with differentiating
features requires design and engineering experience combined with
a focus on end-user and business requirements. We create a ‘best-fit
solution’ in line with your technology roadmap, Intellectual Property
ownership, and cost- and lifecycle expectations. Examples are
a lab-on-a-chip platform, optical sensor devices, medical laboratory
equipment, imaging systems and tele-healthcare for cardiac patients.
Cost-down development and productization
It is a challenge to successfully manage an innovation through
the consecutive phases of a product lifecycle. For instance, after
market introduction the challenge is with cost down and maintaining
unique selling points (featuring). We have over 40 years’ experience
in supporting Philips and other market leading companies with
cost-down development and productization.
Quality and reliability support
Design for industrialization means turning functional designs
into manufacturable products with high reliability and low field-call
rates. We offer quality and reliability as a total service and
as specialist support, for instance in an urgent trouble shooting
context. However, we prefer to take quality and reliability as
an integral element of technology and component choice, supply
chain development, manufacturing, testing and product verification
and validation. Thereby, we prevent
any quality and reliability issues what so ever.
Prototyping for industrial release
There is only one way to ensure a smooth transition from a proven
concept prototype to a manufactured product. That is to do prototyping
for industrial release. Such a prototyping approach requires in-depth
design rule expertise as well as careful attention to the future
supply chain requirements and constraints. To achieve such first-time-right
prototyping, we integrate physical, fluidic and mechanical modeling
techniques into a know-how infrastructure enabling us to verify
designs and guarantee the quality and reliability of new functionality
and
products.
Small volume supply
For new medical devices and systems, the initial volume
requirements may be small, from just 100 up to several thousands
annually. This in view of (pre) clinical testing and approval
procedures or because of the characteristics of the niche market
involved. For such supplies you can rely on our in-house state-of-the-art
manufacturing and test facilities for medical electronics and
assembly. We offer you the full potential of a ‘one stop shop’
service capability.
Industrialization support
To ensure lowest cost whilst meeting time-to-volume and
quality objectives our industrialization consultancy support helps
create a transparent, reliable and lean supply chain. We also
have the competences to streamline manufacturing processes, i.e.
design for Six Sigma, statistical engineering.
